COCKBURN POWER BOATS MID WEEK GROUP

This group was started about 12 years ago by a few male members of the C.P.B.A who decided to have a mid week fishing session on a fairly regular basis.  Over time, the ladies decided to join in too and before too long it evolved into a social lunch and games group as we know it to-day.  The current membership is 34.

They meet on the first Wednesday of each month around noon time, for a pre-lunch drink and social chit chat.  Winter months the meals are casseroles/hot dishes supplied by the excellent cooks in the group, the ladies.  Summer months are b-b-q time when the men have the pleasure of slaving over a hot stove.  Occasionally the group is treated to something different, a Prawn Feast, organised by some of our members.

The Commodore, once a year, puts on a delightful lunch, courtesy of the Club Committee, which is very much enjoyed and appreciated.

After hungry appetites are satisfied, then the games begin!  Carpet bowls, euchre, rummy are the main ones, with darts available if desired.  If anyone wants other choices they can feel free to organise what they like.  It is a very light hearted and pleasant three hours (12- 3p.m) spent in the company of people out to enjoy themselves.
